We have spent many, many hours in training with some of the nation's best teachers, of whom we are very grateful to have had the opportunity to learn from over the past 10-15 years! To this day we still keep up on ongoing training to stay on top of the complex systems that keep your vehicle running smoothly! These credits go to Paul Danner, John Thorton and James Hoover. Office Manger/Advisor
Growing up, I was always intrigued with how things worked. I enjoyed taking things apart to see the inner workings. At age 13, Grandpa told me he thought I would be a diesel mechanic someday. At age 17, I began working at a nursing home in the maintenance department. During the next 10 years, I gained a lot of experience in many trades, including automotive repair. In 2014, I married my lovely wife, Vera, and we currently have 2 boys and 2 girls. In 2017, I began working at Golden Rule Repair. Over the years, I have spent a considerable amount of time studying automotive technology. I am thankful that Golden Rule has given me the opportunity to continue that learning through automotive seminars. The most important thing to me is my faith in Jesus Christ.
Shop Manager
I’ve been working at Golden Rule Repair for five and a half years since finishing school. Ever since I was young, I was drawn to taking things apart and figuring out how they work — especially cars. During high school I learned the basics of automotive maintenance, and since then I’ve gained hands‑on experience on the job, studied textbooks, and earned ASE certifications. Along the way I’ve also looked for ways to improve productivity and efficiency around the shop.
Technician
I’m Allen Kees. I grew up in Harlan, where my family is from, and I’m proud to serve my hometown. I started working on cars when I got my first vehicle at 16, and even before that I was interested in how they worked. In high school I worked at an auto parts store, then spent three years at a Honda dealership as an express technician, where I also met my wife. During that time I also earned an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology from Ivy Tech Community College. In 2024, someone from my church referred me to Golden Rule Repair, which has been a great fit — both personally and professionally — as I grow in my work and for my family. Glad to be here to serve the community I grew up in!

I'm Joe Pratt, a skilled auto technician with a passion for getting vehicles running smoothly and safely. Growing up on a small farm in Iowa, I developed a strong mechanical aptitude from a young age. I remember tearing into my first four-wheeler at 14 years old and fixing it up. That's when my fascination with engines and how they work really took off. With experience working on lots of different makes and models. I continuously strive to improve my skills and knowledge, always trying to be the best I can be. Whether it's staying up-to-date with the latest technologies or refining my diagnostic techniques, I'm committed to delivering exceptional results.
